Maluku or internationally known as the Moluccas is one of the oldest provinces in Indonesia. The capital is Ambon. In 1999, parts of Maluku province expanded into North Maluku province, with its capital in Sofifi. Maluku province composed of islands known as the Moluccan Islands.Maluku ethnic race was dominated by the Pacific Melanesian tribes who are allied with Fiji, Tonga and some of the islands scattered in the Pacific Ocean islands.
Much stronger evidence that refers to the Maluku has ties with the traditions of the Pacific island nations, such as language, folk songs, food, household appliances and devices and instruments typical, example: Ukulele (which are also in the cultural traditions of Hawaii).
They generally have dark skin, curly hair, big bones and a strong framework and a more athletic body profile compared with other ethnic groups in Indonesia, because they are ethnic islands where marine activities such as sailing and swimming are major activities for men.
Since ancient times, many of those who already have blood mixed with other tribes, tribal marriage with Minahasa, Sumatra, Java, Madura, and even most of the Europeans (mainly the Netherlands and Portugal) and the Arab nation, India is very unusual given this area has mastered a foreign nation for 2300 years and gave birth to new offspring offspring, which are not purely Melanesian race again.

Today, the people of Maluku in Indonesia are not only alone but scattered in various countries around the world. Most of those who migrated out of the country due to various reasons though. One of the reasons that the classic is a massive movement of people of Maluku to Europe in the 1950s and remained there until now. Another reason is to get a good labih life, studying, mating-mengawin with other nations, who were later settled and have new generations of Maluku in the other hemisphere. Maluku expatriates can be found in communities large and concentrated in a few countries like the Netherlands, Britain, the United States, Russia, France, Belgium, Germany and many other continents.The language used in Maluku province is Ambon Malay, which is one dialect of Malay. Before the Portuguese menginjakan feet in Ternate (1512), the Malay language has been in the Moluccas and used as the language of commerce. Indonesian language, as in other regions of the Republic of Indonesia, is used in activities such as public official in schools and in government offices.

Nuaulu language (used by tribes in the Seram Nuaulu south, between the bay and the Gulf of El-Paputih Telutih)

Seti language (in use by the tribe of Seti, in North Seram and East Telutih)
Gorom language (people who come down from the Seti and settles in East Seram)
The majority of people in Maluku embraced Christianity and Islam. This is because the influence of Portuguese and Spanish colonization before the Dutch, who had spread Christianity and the influence of the Sultanate of Ternate and Tidore who spread Islam in the Moluccas and Arab traders on the coast of the island of Ambon and surrounding areas before.
